This curriculum is suited for a school which is looking to add a science program and or to build on an existing science program. This model can work within a homeroom or as a “traveling science class”. Level 1.5 science curriculum introduces children ages 4-6 to a broad range of scientific topics in 9 different thematic areas. Within each theme there are 4 lesson plans that present information at the beginning of class in an exciting and innovative manner. Children can then utilize their curiosity to independently explore 14 activities which touch on various aspects and information related to the theme. Access to a water source is recommended for some of the activities, although a pitcher of water can be provided in the classroom to fulfill this need.
